Yes, all of our counsellors offer the option of a free 20-minute consultation before booking your first session.

At this time services are available via telephone and video.

There are circumstances when the counsellor would legally need to break confidentiality. These include the following:

-A risk of serious harm to your safety or the safety of someone else.

-Concerns of neglect or abuse to a child, youth, or vulnerable adult.

-If the counsellor was subpoenaed by the court of law to provide information.

-If a client sued the counsellor, then relevant information may also be released.

We kindly request 48 hours' notice for cancellation and rescheduling of sessions, otherwise, the full session fee will be charged. This applies to missed sessions also. Cancellations are made via email at lewisgillcounselling@gmail.com

Our counsellors are available 7 days a week from 8 am to 10 pm.

The counselling fees at our practice range depend on the experience of the counsellor and the type of session. They are by the professional ethical standards recommended by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

We understand that counselling is not always accessible to everyone due to financial constraints and for this reason, we do offer sliding scale sessions at $90.00 per 50-minute individual session. These sessions are available for students and low-income clients. Please feel free to reach out to us to see if you qualify.

Every plan is different. Please ask your plan provider before your first session or your consultation to ensure that your plan covers the designation of your preferred counsellor. For example, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Canadian Clinical Counsellor (CCC), or Registered Social Worker (RSW). Unfortunately, our work is not covered by the BC Medical Service Plan (MSP).

Unfortunately, our counsellors do not provide direct billing. The client is responsible for payment to the counsellor at the time of service. If you would like to receive reimbursement through your extended benefits plan, you will receive a receipt to submit to your insurer.
